Hey guys, just to maybe spark some conversation here, I was wondering something about Erudite Magicians.

I plan on possibly making one, then making a Half Elf Paladin as my alt. The reason why I am going Erudite is because they are rare, I've never played a Erudite before so it's a totally different thing for me, and supposedly they get a lot of great quests throughout every level in their hometown.

But that leads me to my question, to get these quests, do I have to worship Quellious (or some other deity) or can I be agnostic?

From my experience, erudites are not rare (at least on my server a lot of int casters were erudites). As for quests, I must say I don't remember doing any in Erudin. There will be no warrens so Toxxulia won't get you very far, most people travel to Qeynos at level 3-4 and go to Qeynos hills and Blackburrow.

There are a few nice quests in Qeynos though. I remember farming that named cube in Qeynos sewers (name Cuburt) for a quest that reward 3 int earrings, and of course there are the gnoll fangs quest for nice XP. I don't remember any lowbie quest of interest in Erudin though.

There are actually a few great quests for magicians in Erudin. The most famous would be the Mystic Cloak quest - 5 int back item with some other stats and a few charges of Steelskin. I can't remember the others offhand, but I know I did the Mystic Cloak back in the day and it was pretty fun.

I didn't think Erudites were particularly rare on Rodcet Nife back in the day - or at least not any more so than Magicians in general (we seemed to have very few good mages on RN for some reason, especially PoP+).

IIRC one of the easiest quests involves summoning bread and turning it in to an npc (forgetting name) in Erudin. The reward is mostly for aesthetics: black gloves. Pretty sure other pure casters could do it too, but summoned bread and faction are needed. As for your original question, I cannot say for sure as it's been so long.

The only rare erudites I can remember were SK's or Pallys. Erudite casters were as common on Tunare as sand is on the beach.

I specifically remember buying a Cold Steel BP from someone and i'm 99% sure this was during Velious so wouldnt The Warrens be in classic?
