Oh the days where the loading time was actually long enough to hear the full song.....twice before getting in game.

Bah! Nerd you say? This is my everyday playlist for work in the mornings. Nothing like some Velks music to get you going.

Haha, ya I have pretty much every EQ midi I could find rendered to MP3/vorbis format and saved on my music server. I'm always listening to it at work. They never get old!

Nothing better than EQ music.

I have all of the EQ midis, and converted them to MP3 as well.

I also renamed some to match the current MP3's, then copy/pasted them into the EQ directory, so whenever I play Live now, I have all the old music where appropriate.

I also delete the Spellsnew files so I get the original spell particles.

I'll never understand why they didn't simply record the original music, note for note and at the same tempo, with a full orchestra.

For me, the original EQ music is as powerful and nostalgic as John William's various scores, or Howard Shore's LoTR sound track.

As great as these are, I have to say that I also enjoyed the EQ2 soundtrack. One of the best qualities of that game.

While I do enjoy the old EQ music, and everytime I hear it I get goosebumps; I didn't really actively listen to it. Even when I used to play, I would have my brothers CD player going (four disk changer, hell yeah baby) the whole night.

My Kunark guide is covered in various forms of use from many years. Necromancer page still has a mystery stain on it...

I think I loaned all my disks to a friend way back when. I assume I won't be seeing them again. I still have my Prima Ruins of Kunark strategy guide though. Love that thing.

Those are treasures bro! Never throw anything that has potential sentimental or nostalgic value away.

Not only might you want them again yourself at some point, you may also be sitting on a small fortune someday.

People throw things out, therefore collectables!

Can't put a finger on why, but the Desert of Ro theme will always be near and dear to me. I will never forget the camps of people sitting at the desert line pulling madmen, beetles and the occasional mummy. And who can forget the many Dorn beat downs?

Derv camps stand out to me a great deal in my memories of EQ past. They were my first real group/camp experience. I had leveled up mostly solo in the qeynos area for a while. Eventually, a friend helped me get a teleport from NK to WC and I started leveling up around the freeport area. Most notably, the Dervish Cutthroat camps.

This is one of my all time favorites as well. Big time nostalgia for the Oasis.

Oasis was the first place my friends and I went upon leaving Gfay, around level 14 I guess. I'll never forget killing caiman and DW crocs, hoping to avoid Lockjaw, and moving up to the Orc Highway as we leveled.

And of course that horrible wailing sound of Specs headed your way, everyone running in different directions, hoping that someone else would take the heat and you would just make it to the zone alive!

Sounds like my ex... But, I have to give her credit. She tried.

We live in the decade where geek is chic, I will never understand it.
