Question: I remember there being class specific quests our of Solusek Ro added into the game for mid levels to have something to do.

Did all classes have quests or only certain ones? I looked up a list of quests from the Temple of Ro and only saw quests for Bards, Paladins, SKs, and a few caster items, and the rogue sword. Did the other classes get the shaft as far as mid level quests go?

Monks had headbands and sashes for whatever that's worth. In retrospect, they all totally sucked nads, but then again they might have actually been the best thing out there for a Monk at the time.

I think Beledric is correct - all classes except for Druids and Monks got some kind of classic specific armor set added for them around the time the Temple of Solusek Ro was introduced. Pure casters got clickies or focus items from their Solusek Ro quests, and the plate / chain classes got armor set quests (or drops for rogues) in various places.. The two leather classes really got screwed.

Of the casters I know magicians kind of made out the best - we got a pretty good robe that wasn't too hard to get, and then the four focus items for our pets which beefed them up a good bit. Wizards got the clicky T-staff which was pretty good, and the Necro items weren't too bad (like the Harvestor). The chanter items were kind of crappy iirc.

I stand corrected, you sir, are correct!

Wu's Tranquil Fist came out of PoS, but the armor was Ton Po's. Wu's was crafted. I think it was introduced in Kunark, maybe a little before. I know vanilla vanilla Monks wore leather, despite the weight factor, because Cured Silk was either not in game, or hadn't been found yet. Was never quite sure which.

Hrm...I wonder if anyone who is super knowledgeable would be willing to start up a new thread listing the mid-level class quests that they know. Like where to start them and a sort of checklist for what needs to be done.

Classes I'm currently interested* in trying:
"Dark Elf" Bard, (Dark Elf, Erudite, Iksar) Necro, Dwarf Cleric, Dwarf Rogue, Half Elf Paladin, Ogre Warrior

*Interest is subject to change on a whim.

Personally I would find it a lot more fun to find those quests in game. Would make it seem that much more real. Ya know? 8-)

I may be wrong on this but I am fairly certain that Ton Po's set was Elemental/Timeless set for monks (PoP)

Ton Po's Bo Stick of Understanding was a Trak drop.

Wu's armor set was tailoring.

Wu's Quivering Staff and Master Wu's Trance stick were City of Mist drops.

Wu's Tranquil Fist Was PoSky quest.

Wu's Fist of Mastery was added during Velious, no idea where it is droped/quested.

Mmm, yeah you might be right. Ton Po's eyepatch and Shoulder Wraps were PoSky.

Don't forget the Clay Bracelet. A clicky Eye of Zomm had a multitude of purposes, mostly involving me being able to target mobs around corners for the rest of the group or at least give them a head's up on what was coming. Also helped from time to time when checking on named mobs in a given area. Or of course just to play around while bored.

The Earthen Boots of course were a different story. Such limited use coupled with poor stats, I think I stopped keeping them in my bags about a week after having them and they simply rotted in my bank from that point on.
